About

SBB 2009

My name is Steve Booth-Butterfield. I run the Healthy Influence Blog and am therefore responsible for its content.  You can learn more about my background here.

I created the Blog as a part of my larger website, HealthyInfluence.com, to provide updates and applications of persuasion theory and research. Much of the world depends upon persuasion and influence, although in ways that may not seem obvious, effective, or interesting. This Blog delivers analysis and comment on all things persuasion.

A word about navigation.  If you see orange top banners, you are in the Blog and if you don’t, you’re in the Consulting Website.  In the Blog, note the top menu line – a horizontal strip in light gray just underneath the burnt orange banner.  Blog Posts make frequent reference to persuasion concepts that are described in Pages off the menu line (Home, About, the Rules, Intro, Thinking, etc.).  These Pages explain persuasion theory and research in a fast and friendly fashion.  When you click on any of these main Section Pages, you’ll see a new, second menu line appear with several new Pages.  Under each major Section, you’ll find several related Pages (e.g. Classical Conditioning, Reinforcement, and Modeling under the Doing Section).  You might want to visit and peruse those Pages.  They provide basic concepts, terms, and methods for scientific persuasion in everyday life.

If you have any questions, concerns, or complaints about the content of this Blog, please contact me at “drsbb at HealthyInfluence dot com.” I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

I don’t accept comments.  Comments still attract spam and require maintenance.  That detracts from writing time and fun for me.  A better way to handle this is to either: a) write your own ideas on your own website and link to my post or b) contact me through my email.

You can find me on twitter at @PersuasionGuy.  You can also automate HI Blog posts through RSS or email subscription.  Just look on the right sidebar under “Subscribe.”

Finally, remember:  All Bad Persuasion Is Sincere.
