Healthy Influence Blog

communication for a change

Comments

I am now opening the Blog to comments on a test basis. Please bear with me as I learn how to operate more effectively. When I began this Blog in December 2006, I spent more time deleting spam than I did blogging. I’m hoping that things have improved and I won’t have to manage more than I write. Post on the first screen or page of the Blog are now available for comment. If things go well, I’ll open up later posts.

I’ll take a strong First Amendment stand here, but if you think your free speech includes marketing pills, sex, or anything else, I’ll delete your comment without comment. If you are offended with anything you read here, please let me know of your concerns and I’ll deal with it on a case by case basis.

Old Policy Statement: No Longer Valid (February 26, 2008)

I do not accept comments through the usual mechanism of letting people put up posts which I then read, approve, and publish or even through unedited posting. If you blog you know why: Spam. During the first few weeks I started this blog, spammers bombed me through the comment function. I spent more time reading and deleting this Constitutionally protected free speech than I did writing on the blog and that’s not my purpose.

If you’d like to comment on anything you read here, let’s try this. If you have a website - blog, MySpace, whatever - please make your response there, send me the link (DrSBB at Healthy Influence Dot Com), and I’ll post up that link on my blog. This will actually increase your score on the latest and greatest Cool-O-Meter algorithm that search engines employ and provide the to-and-fro of blog post and comment. Thus, you get the benefit of praising, burying, or correcting Caesar (or in this case, Steve) plus a better seat at the Cool Table of the Web.

Everyone is happy. I get to blog. You get to comment. Spammers get frustrated. The Constitution gets protected and respected! “A-mer-ik-a, the beauuu-te-full!”
